The Wardens

The Wardens act as your first port of call for help and support for any matters relating to life in halls. They are also in charge of making sure the hall environment is conducive to study and living, and so will make sure that Wilkinson is sufficiently clean and quiet, particularly during night time. Together with the Hall Seniors, they organise social activities and events to help you to settle in, get to know one another and have fun in halls.

The wardens are here for you and because of you, so don’t hesitate to approach anyone of us for help or when you see us in the hall.

The wardens are on call every evening from 18:00 – 08:00 and throughout the weekend and holidays. You can reach out via the Duty Mobile on 07764 379 356 or 57717 from an internal phone.

Subwardens

Abi Riley (she/they)

Room 186 (email: a.riley21)

Welcome to Wilkinson Hall! I am Abi and I will be your subwarden this year. I am doing a PhD in Environment and Health, particularly in modelling the effects of air pollution on mental health. I come from Warwick, a small town about an hour and a half from London.

In my free time, I can usually be found on the Thames rowing or coxing, as part of the ICSM Boat Club and a local Women’s Club! I can also be found cycling around on my absolutely ridiculous bike, I also enjoy cooking and baking, particularly vegan cakes. Feel free to drop around for tea and cake whenever!

I am looking forward to meeting you all and I hope you enjoy this exciting first year at Imperial College!

Languages: English, and can attempt some French and German

Omar Tahir (he/him)

Room 286 (email: omar.tahir17)

I’m Omar, your subwarden on mezzanine floor! I’m currently in my third year of my Computing PhD, but previously I also studied JMC here at Imperial as well.

On the academic side, I’m particularly interested in computer architecture, hardware design, programming languages, compilers, and category theory.

Outside work, I love the theatre (both watching and acting/directing), and I enjoy playing video games or D&D with friends. If you have any problems, have an event you’d like to run, or just want to chat, feel free to drop by my room at the end of the mezzanine corridor. Enjoy your time at Wilkinson and Imperial!

Languages: English, some Japanese and a smidge of Portuguese.

Raul Adriaensen (he/him)

Room 286 (email: raul.adriaensen17)

Hi there, welcome to the Wilkinson family!

I’m Raul and am currently a PhD student diving deep into the world of computational modeling for Coastal Regions as part of the Earth Science and Engineering department. I have been lucky to be calling Imperial home since 2017, prior to this I lived in quite a few places including Qatar, Brazil, Belgium, and Spain.

When I am not with my head in the books you can most likely find me in the gym or at Imperial’s dance club, but always curious to learn new things and pick up new hobbies. If we haven’t met yet, come by for a chat anytime!

Enjoy everything Imperial has to offer!

Languages: English, Spanish, Dutch, and quickly declining Portuguese
